CONSERVATORY
This bright and airy room was added to the

dining space, whilst retaining the atmosphere
of the George. Built in 2003, many features
were incorporated including flagstones and
large wooden beams, which came from
the Jubilee Hall, built to celebrate Queen
Victoria’s Golden Anniversary in 1887, by
Argyll Estates.
Access is also given to the rear of the
hotel leading to extensive outside seating/beer
gardens with panoramic views of
Loch Fyne.
This area can be completely closed of to the
main lounge with additional access from the
hallway, making it ideal for small functions
and private dining.
FOOD
Food is served every day from 12-9pm with
the hotel utilising the best of local Scottish
produce and offering the best of Scottish
hospitality throughout. Extensive wine lists,
a seasonal cocktail list and a range of local
ales are also available.
PUBLIC BAR AND SNUG
Located to the other side of the hotel the
bar is very popular with locals and tourists
alike, with an excellent reputation for its
atmosphere and extensive drinks menu.
Again, the features representative of a
building of this age and character are
displayed through the bar and follow into the quaint Whisky snug area, including
flagstone flooring, exposed stone walls and
a traditional open fireplace.
There is also access to an outside seating area
(partially covered) and beer garden developed
in 2016.

The George has extensive grounds to the
rear, which look directly on to Loch Fyne
and make for an exceptional multi discipline
space during the summer months, which had
been greatly developed during lockdown with
many upgrades during 2021 including trailer
bar and food shack. Incorporated are varying
seating arrangements, enclosed stage area
(ideal for live entertainment), covered bar
with seating and heaters, pizza oven and food/
kitchen cabin.
LETTING ACCOMMODATION
Each of the bedrooms in the George are
unique and individually designed. The
main hotel incorporates 18 rooms, many
including open fireplaces, cast iron baths
and monsoon showers. The First House has a
further
6, totalling 24 ensuite rooms. The First

THE BARN

The Barn is a four bedroom house just to the
rear of The George and attached to The First
House, which originally serviced the First
House when it was a family home in the 18th
century. This development was carried out in
2010.
All on the one floor the property has been
fitted to a high standard with an open plan
kitchen and dining room, large spacious
living room with French style chimney.
The living room opens out onto a private
courtyard with seating, surrounded by
a walled garden. There are three double
rooms, one ensuite with a monsoon shower,
and a twin room. There is also a whirlpool
bath in the bathroom.
Previously used by the owners, the
property is now let on a room only basis, for
a minimum of two night stay and possible
to book for a week or longer.
