Description
IBS Acquisitions are pleased to announce the listing of our client’s Intellectual Property
(IP) to market.
This Electrical Socket (I.P. Approved) invention has been a long time in the making and
substantial progress has been achieved on the development of the product and the
approved patents to date, all of which are enclosed in this document.
The concept development and evolution of the product is detailed along with draft
specifications and drawings and finally the approved patent certificate to demonstrate
progress to date. Our client explains below how this invention came about and the
thought process behind the idea.
Our client is open minded on how this unique opportunity can move forward and
hopefully be taken to market successfully, either working with ambitious investors
through a licencing agreement or an outright sale of the IP.
PERSONAL STATEMENT FROM INVENTOR:
“I have been in the building trade for over 15 years. I went to college and got my NVQ
qualification in carpentry and have continued to develop my skills within the
construction trade.
Back in 2017 we were carrying out an extension and after the electricians had finished,
we continued to board and plaster the ceilings and walls. I remember having to go around
and clean all the sockets out which a lot of plasterers don’t do, but I always wanted the
best possible finish for the client.
Even with the clean perimeter of the area to the socket this was always making goo to be
done when it came to the second fix and decorating. This is when the idea started to
develop.

Also, in 2017 the Grenfell Tower fire happened. This started a massive restructure of how
we fireproofed buildings. Everyone concentrated on how the fire spread not necessarily
on how it started. It started with a fridge freezer setting on fire.
An electrical appliance, with further development of the socket, could be proven more
fire resistance and have an airtight perimeter. There are also other items that could be
added to make it safer.
I worked on HMO properties fire boarding the walls and ceiling, to which an electrician
would have to come and make the sockets and switches safe to board, so we were able to
carry out our job, but this caused hassle, both to the tenant and us, to get a neat finish.
I then thought it’s about time I investigate developing the socket. The socket would save
time on installation, save time on making good around sockets and switches, bring in
updated and more fire regulated products to the market and revolutionise what we
currently have saving millions of pounds to developers and councils.
It would have the potential to also save lives, and so the journey began, to develop the
socket which was not an easy product to develop.
I concentrated on having a product that worked, but I am now at a stage where I need an
investor or someone within the market to take it to the next step to bring the invention
to life.”
