Galashiels is one of the largest and most important towns in the Scottish Borders. The town lies 33 miles south of Edinburgh city centre on the A7. The A7 is one of the most important routes in the borders linking Edinburgh in the North to Carlisle in the South.

The town has a population of circa 12,500, located close to other Borders towns including Selkirk and Hawick. The town also benefits from the reintroduction of the Borders rail link with an important stop and station in the town close to the high street. The rail link via the Waverley line has reconnected this part of the Borders with a direct, reliable and fast link to Edinburgh city centre.

Galashiels is a thriving commercial hub and great location for exploring the rest of the Borders.
