LOCATION
The Isle of Skye, or in Scots Gaelic ‘Eilean A Cheo’ meaning Misty Isle, is located on the north western coast of Scotland and is a world-renowned holiday destination appealing to a wide range of visitors. Brogaig Cottages are located in Staffin directly opposite Quiraing. The cottages are nestled in the hillside, located in Brogaig, forming part of the Staffin district located on the east coast of the Trotternish ridge peninsula of Skye. Brogaig is located close to the start of the Trotternish Ridge hill race which usually occurs in June.
7 miles away is Uig which hosts the main ferry terminal linking Skye to the Outer Hebrides. This terminal facility is in the process of being remodeled, with completion due in 2024. The work is being undertaken to meet the needs of the new ferry vessel and is expected to increase visitor numbers to the village and the local area. The village also has other local attractions; the Uig Pottery, The Isle of Skye Brewing Company and a brief drive away is The Old Man of Storr.
Portree is the cultural hub for Skye, which is about 19 miles to the SE. Portree is the largest settlement with a population of about 2500. During the season the town’s population swells many times over with the influx of tourists. The name of the town comes from the Gaelic Port-an-Righ, which translates as “King’s Port” and dates to a visit by King James V. Portree is a bustling port and a thriving cultural centre, and was also the place where Bonnie Prince Charlie spent his last days in Scotland. THE PROPERTIES

From here the guests gain entry into cottage’s main living area. To the extreme right is the modern, comfortable and spacious seated area, set around the cosy multi fuel stove. Behind this is the dining area and in front is the kitchen. To the left as you enter the cottage is the entrance to the ensuite bedroom. The bedroom is a delightful spacious room benefitting from a zip and link super king bed. To the rear of the property is the sizeable ensuite.
The window to the front provides stunning views over Staffin and the Quiraing and the Trotternish Ridge behind.
Cottage
Access to Storr Cottage is via a paved path from the dedicated parking area into the open plan living area. To the extreme left is the very comfortable and spacious seated area set around the TV and multi fuel stove. Behind this and closer to the entrance is the dining area and in front of the entrance is the kitchen. This cottage has additional full height window frontage, which provide panoramic views of Staffin, Staffin Bay, the mainland mountains and the Quiraing behind. To the right as you enter the cottage is the entrance to the ensuite bedroom. The bedroom is spacious and appointed to a very high standard. The window to the front provides stunning views over Staffin Bay and the mountains behind. To the rear of the property a large ensuite. Throughout the cottage the décor is light and welcoming.
Common to Both Cottages
Throughout both cottages the properties are immaculate with an attention to detail which is second to none. GROUNDS
The garden is mainly laid to lawn with a gravel drive. There is ample parking (4 cars). In front of each cottage there is a hard finished patio overlooking Staffin Island with spectacular Wester Ross and the mountains of Torridon in the background. The drive and developed area of the site has been decrofted.
Within the grounds between the cottages there is a shed, with a dedicated storage area for each of the cottages. Each store is suitably sized to store bikes and other outdoor equipment during the guests stay.
OWNERS ACCOMMODATION
There is no owner’s accommodation on site, though the new owners could possibly live in one of the cottages and rent out the other. A change of use may need to be applied for, so the purchaser should satisfy themselves that this possible.
SERVICES
The properties benefit from mains electricity and water. The properties both have electric underfloor heating and oil central heating which can be remotely controlled. Both properties also have a log burner in the lounge area, which creates a lovely ambiance when lit. Drainage from both properties is via a modern macerator type septic tank.
